All movements and incidents have to be entered into the station watch logsheet.  Normal entries are in black whilst any urgent or distress report is entered in red.

Watch keepers details together with the watch starting and finishing times are also entered for each watch.  The bottom of the form is used to enter the local weather conditions at the start of each watch as well when the station closes for the night.

Standard abbreviations are used to indicate the type of vessel or incident.  Other standard abbreviations help the watch keepers to log other information i.e. "wvr" means "within visible range" and "epob2" means that we estimate that there are two people on board the vessel.

We also have to file "Hornbeam" reports.  These are reports that are sent to the Admiralty listing commercial vessels that are moving along the coast.
