Pakefield is a suburb of Lowestoft located in the county of Suffolk in the UK. The Coastwatch station is located in the old lighthouse just off of the main car and coach park in the Pontins Holiday Centre located just south of the town's southern edge. Obviously, the most relaxing way of visiting us is by taking one of the relaxing holiday breaks offered by Pontins Holiday Centres. For more information simply click here. If you are on holiday or visiting Lowestoft then a short walk along the beach from Pakefield will bring you to Mad Mary's Leap which is a gulley leading from the beach up into the grounds of Pontins Holiday Centre at Pakefield. If you are coming by car then follow the following instructions and map. By Car From The South Join the A12 (North) at Ipswich sign posted for Lowestoft. From Ipswich you will have a drive of about 40 miles. After you have passed through the village of Wrentham, the next roundabout will be signposted Kessingland. Take the second exit, signposted Lowestoft, along the Kessingland bye-pass. At the end of the bye-pass there is another roundabout from which you should take the second exit. The entrance to the Pontins Holiday Centre is then a few hundred yards along this road on your right. Click here to view the map. By Car From The North Head for great Yarmouth and there join the A12 southbound to Lowestoft and Ipswich. Drive through Lowestoft Town Centre keeping on the A12. As come out of the town you will come to a roundabout where there is a large water tower and a Mac Donald's Restaurant on the first exit. Take the second exit (A12 Ipswich) and it is then about 800 yards to the next roundabout. Take the second exit (A12 Ipswich). The entrance to Pontins Holiday Centre is then about 200 yards down on your left. Click here to view the map. When you arrive at the centre you should report to the security office at the entrance.
